Birthday Greetings
Finding the perfect gift is difficult, especially a birthday present. I've always thought the one thing you don't want to do is to make a mistake on the side of caution. You have the license to be informal when sending birthday greetings. You can even be humorous and mocking of someone as long as you take note of not to hurt their feelings. This doesn’t mean be cute, though it does mean that you can add a personal message in your birthday greetings. You should try to make it significant and meaningful even if it’s light and funny as well. By doing so, you add a personal touch to a greeting card, and it will mean that much more to the recipient.
Personally, I have always thought that birthday greetings are a great time for inside jokes. After all, a birthday card should be short and to the point, yet also personal and nothing fits this quite other than an inside joke. Personal jokes are something that remind the person of your shared connection and often brings up a memory of good times you had together, which is also a great way to rekindle friendships that might be or is falling by the wayside. Humour may be used to remind someone how much they mean to you. The best way to deal with special occasions is to look at them as an opportunity, not as a chore, and then it will be easy to find the right thing to say.
